Forgiveness: The Freedom of Grace
Jul 5, 2026 • Pastor Tami Luckhardt
Some acts of forgiveness feel almost impossible. Deep betrayals. Public and political divisions. The quiet, persistent weight of our own regrets. On a weekend when we celebrate freedom, we turn to the question: what does it mean to be truly free in our souls? Scripture paints a powerful picture of God speaking words of forgiveness and healing, and running toward us with compassion before we can even finish our confession. This is grace that meets us, restores us, and sets us free. This week, we’ll reflect on how to live faithfully in a divided world without losing our capacity for grace, and how to release ourselves from the burden of shame and self-condemnation. Forgiveness here is not easy, but it is liberating.
