Living Ministry Endowment Application for Ministry Grant

Since 2003, the Messiah Church Living Ministry Endowment has made 93 grants totaling over $277,621! Grants have funded a variety of projects including Bloom Early Learning & Child Care, Habitat for Humanity, Iglesia Piedra Viva (IPV), Imara International, Re-Member, Thrive Kenya, and Boy Scout Eagle projects. The endowment provides funds for worthy causes that are not in the regular church budget. These projects allow Messiah members to make a positive impact on many lives. If you have a ministry idea in need of initial funding or a missional need that you would like Messiah Church to support, please complete an application.

Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 15, 2026

The purpose of this fund is to strengthen the mission of Messiah United Methodist Church. Application for Messiah Living Ministry Endowment funds involves a three-step process.
  1. Read the Purposes of the Endowment to be sure that your request meets at least one of the criteria.
  2. Complete this application at least three weeks prior to the scheduled quarterly committee review dates.
  3. A representative from your ministry must attend the Messiah Living Ministry Endowment committee review meeting to give a short presentation about your ministry’s needs and to answer questions from committee members. You will be informed within a week whether or not your request has been granted.

Purposes of the Endowment
Messiah* Living Ministry Endowment earnings will be available for distribution at any time when such distributions meet at least one of the purposes of the Endowment noted below:
  • To provide opportunities to individuals to Participate in Christian service projects that have involvement/support of The Church*.
  • To contribute to outreach programs and new Church development.
  • To provide funding for new programs and activities in The Church.
  • To provide opportunities to create a distinct project that reflects The Church’s mission.
  • To support The Church and its mission as the committee deems appropriate.

Expectations for Grant requestor:
The grant requestor is expected to provide an update to the Committee three to nine months after receiving the Grant. The recipient is also encouraged to provide a short video sharing how the Grant assisted them/their project.

* The terms “The Church” and/or “Messiah” means Messiah United Methodist Church
