Care and Support

Messiah’s Congregational Care provides a ministry of care, compassion and hope to one another through acts of love. If you are in need of support, prayer, or would like a hospital visit, contact Pastor Brian Hacklander at 763-473-6968  ext. 123.

Congregational Care Team

The Congregational Care team is made up of church members who are trained to provide compassionate care through visits and phone calls. Our team meets weekly for one hour for prayer and coordination of care. We are networked through acts of compassion, visitation, encouragement, prayer, Communion, and Pastoral Counseling. To receive care, contact Pastor Brian Hacklander or the church office.

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain actively prays for the needs of individuals, families, and community as they become known to the church.  To share a prayer concern, send us a note below. Please be specific yet brief, so that we can pray with purpose. For more  information, contact: Sally

Grief Support

Coping with the death of a loved one is one of life’s most stressful and difficult experiences. Messiah is a partner of the West Suburban Grief Coalition and weekly meetings of this support group gather on Thursdays at various churches on a rotating basis. For more visit: Grief Coalition.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Members of Messiah knit prayer and baptismal shawls for those in need of support and prayers. Receiving a hand knit shawl serves as a reminder of the care and compassion given by those who serve on this ministry. To join this ministry, or request a  shawl, contact: Carolyn.

Barnabas Ministry

The Barnabas ministry is a ministry of encouragement for our church family.  Each week the Barnabas Team writes personal notes to members of our church. These handwritten notes express our love, prayers, concerns, joy and sharing. Contact Mickey.

Caregiver Coffee Hour

Are you caring for someone with memory loss? Have a cup of coffee with other caregivers: share stories, struggles, and give and receive comfort and encouragement. This is a place to find faith-filled hope with a sprinkling of prayer. This groups meets every other week on Thursdays from 9-10 am. For upcoming meeting dates, contact Kay.

Al-Anon Meetings

Are you worried about someone with a drinking problem? Have you been hurt  by someone with a drinking problem?  Al‑Anon meetings offer the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others who have faced similar challenges. This group meets  on Thursdays from 7-8 pm at Messiah. For more information, visit Al-Anon.
