Girls Celebrate the Dedication

Messiah Church helped to build the bathroom at Light of Hope (LoH), both physically and financially. The photos show the day the bathroom was dedicated.

The team returned from Kenya this past January! Director of Children’s Ministry, Carol Erickson along with Senior Pastor, Steve Richards and seven Messiah members traveled to Light of Hope (LOH) Children’s Home in Kenya. View the video for some highlights! The home currently serves girls who have been abandoned or orphaned due to HIV/AIDS, tribal border wars and other sicknesses.

“The situation in Kenya is unspeakable,” says Carol. “The children are poor, starving, destitute. It’s heartbreaking, overwhelming, huge.

“But, these girls have hope because of LOH. It may seem small, but it really does start with one and grows. These girls now have a chance to grow up healthy and make a difference in their country.”

The March, 2010 newsletter shares more details about this last trip. Contact the church office if you are interested in knowing more. You can also visit the Light of Hope web site at www.lmiafrica.com.
